Ancestors love to play

This morning I spent my day getting permission from various people to publish a chapter of my book. The chapter is about Aboriginal hero William Cooper who defended the Jews during WWII. I visited the German consulate and a Rabbi at the synagogue. Then I had a meeting about a totally different matter. I was meeting with Maxine and we only had an hour to discuss something quite complex. However I found myself feeling the need to share with her something ‘off topic’ and what happened that morning with trying to honour this unsung hero William Cooper. I handed her the chapter on William Cooper and as I pushed it across the table said, “I know our meeting was supposed to be about something else, and we don’t have much time, but I feel I needed to share this with you.” She looked at the chapter for a while and then looked up at me and said, ‘It’s because my mother is William Cooper’s blood niece and she was raised by him in his home.”
